1-Page Marketing Course – Book Formula Publishing is built on the 1-Page Marketing Plan framework. We recommend this course to our authors who are using their book as part of a larger marketing strategy. This course offers a step-by-step plan for building the necessary systems to create a solid foundation for future growth.
Grammar/Word Help
Grammarly – a cloud-based writing assistant that helps with grammar and other writing needs. This doesn’t replace editing, but it’s an excellent place to start.
Word Hippo– Can’t find the right word for your prose? Word Hippo is part thesaurus, part word tool that’s an excellent option for reducing word repetition and adding variety to your writing.
Writing Help
Notion.so – It’s not necessary to have special software to write a book, but Notion makes it easy super easy to organize your writing (and other areas of your life!) See the article below on how to use Notion for writing.
Roam Research – Love it or hate it, the Roam Research mind mapping, notetaking tool provides authors with a unique way to organize thoughts. If you’re more productive when you know how your thoughts connect to form ideas, then this is the tool for you.
Website Builders (It's not necessary to have a separate book website from your business brand.)
WordPress.com—easy setup with a variety of template options. (Free/Monthly fee options.)
WordPress.org—self-hosted version that’s free to download. Offers the greatest functionality and flexibility of all the CMS’s listed here, but there is a learning curve. Not recommended for beginners. Website hosting is not included.)
Squarespace—stylish templates with an easy “drop and drag” system. (monthly fee)
Wix—a bit less functionality than Squarespace and WordPress, but overall a solid platform depending on your needs. Easy to get started. ( monthly fee)
